Aug. 14-Stuart, VA-Vice President Joe Biden arrived unexpectedly in Stuart, VA (Patrick County), traveling to Main Street and visiting The Coffee Break, a popular eatery.

Photo By Tom Bishop He arrived on Main Street near the El Rancho Mexican Restuarant and gave all the folks a nice greeting, speaking to the families, mothers and small children. As Executive Director of the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce, I reached out my hand for a shake saying, "Thanks for coming to Stuart, VA and Patrick County." Mayor James McHone, introduced himself and said, "I am the Mayor of Stuart, VA." VP Biden invited him to a cup of coffe at Coffee Break. Lots of folk were gathered in front of Blue Ridge Furniture and greeting him again when he emerged back on Main Street. He spent about 20 minutes talking to those who were gathered and listening intently. It all caused quite a stir in our small village, with multiple Secret Service personnel and vehicles filling up Main Street. On hand was our County Administrator, Tom Rose, Sheriff Dan Smith, Gail Harding from The Enterprise and Richard Rogers, Talk Show Host from WHEO 1270 radio in Stuart.
