July 17-Beautiful peaches are being harvested in Patrick County, VA at this point in time. Not only beautiful, but tasty! Patrick County Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual Virginia State Peach Festival in August.
In traveling around Patrick County in the last few days, I found some delicious yellow free-stone peaches, plus white free-stone peaches.
Communities with local grown peaches are Ararat (and Willis Gap community), Woolwine and Stuart.
To learn more about the current peach crop, you may call the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce for details and locations.
They can be found weekly at the Stuart Downtown Farm Market on Patrick Avenue, 8am-12 noon. (Stuart, VA)
