MARTINSVILLE – On Tuesday, May 22nd at 7:00 p.m. the Martinsville Campus of National College will hold its graduation ceremony at Martinsville High School with special guest City of Martinsville Commonwealth’s Attorney Joan Ziglar.
National College in Martinsville Announces Spring Graduation
MARTINSVILLE – On Tuesday, May 22nd at 7:00 p.m. the Martinsville Campus of National College will hold its graduation ceremony at Martinsville High School with special guest City of Martinsville Commonwealth’s Attorney Joan Ziglar. Over 140 students are expected to attend the ceremony and receive their diplomas and degrees.
Joan Ziglar was elected Commonwealth’s Attorney for the city of Martinsville in 1997. Prior to this position, Ms. Ziglar held other legal positions, including serving in the Attorney General’s office as Special Counsel, Child Support Enforcement in Danville, and Assistant Public Defender in Martinsville. She also taught as an adjunct faculty member for Patrick Henry Community College, served as a probation and parole officer, and was employed as an associate attorney for Williams, Luck, and Williams in Martinsville. Ms. Ziglar has professional memberships in the United States Supreme Court Bar, the Fourth Circuit Appellate Court Bar, the Virginia State Bar Association, and the Martinsville & Henry County Bar Association. Her community service involvement includes serving as a mentor with the Martinsville & Henry County Public Schools and being a member of the curriculum committee of the Ferrum College Board of Trustees. Ms. Ziglar has a bachelor’s degree from Ferrum College, a Master of Public Administration degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a juris doctorate from the College of William and Mary.
