Forest fires broke out near Stuart, VA in Patrick County on April 10, 2012 approximately 1:00pm, adjacent to U. S. Route 58 4-lane, JEB Stuart Highway, just West of Stuart.

Fire departments from Moorefield Store, Stuart, Patrick Henry and Patrick Springs had already responded and were congregating at W & W Produce.
Patrick County has been plagued with heavy winds all day long, which has complicated the situation.
Patrick County and many parts of Virginia are under a Red Flag warning.
Virginia has issued a Red Flag Warning in effect for many localities. There is extreme Fire Risk in Central and Western Virginia.
