Hickory Landmark's Society Tours Laurel Hill-Ararat

Hickory Landmark's Society of Hickory North Carolina, toured Laurel Hill (Birthplace of Maj. Gen. J. E. B. Stuart, CSA) on Saturday, March 31, 2012, which is National Civil War Park Day.
A tour bus of 35 people enjoyed the fine weather and beautiful scenery of this historic site, Laurel Hill, in the Ararat section of Patrick County, VA.
Leading the tour was Shirley Keene, President of JEB Stuart Birthplace Trust, Vice President Ronnie Haynes, Coates Clark Board Member and Tom Bishop Board Member and Executive Director of the Patrick County Chamber.
This same day, the volunteers for JEB's Birthplace Trust were cleaning, mowing, mulching flower beds and planting flowers to beautify the 75 acre site, recognizing National Civil War Park Clean up day.
