The Dan River Park, of Ararat, VA will hold a golf tournament, Fred D. Smith Memorial, at Cross Creek Country Club, Mt. Airy, NC. Date, May 3, 2012, 9:00am Tee Off. Rain date is May 10.

The date for the Fred D. Smith Memorial Golf Tournament has been set! It is May 3, 2012, rain date, May 10. Tee off is at 9:00 AM at Cross Creek Country Club. A buffet lunch will be served at the end of the round. Entry fee is 75.00 or 300.00 for a four person team. Our goal is to have 100 players or 25 teams. First prize to the winning team will be $600, second is $400 and third is $300. There will be additional prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin. The Hole in One prize will be a car again this year. We will be using a different system to handicap the teams thanks to the new Golf Pro at Cross Creek. He is using a 10 point system to make the handicaps a little more fair. More news about that will follow.
