Take the Leap to End Alzheimer’s
February 27, 2012 - The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research programs. The Central and Western Virginia Chapter asks that you take the Leap this Leap Year and sign up your Walk team early.
The Central and Western Virginia Chapter has eight (8) walks this year in Culpeper (Sept. 8), Roanoke (Sept. 15), Blacksburg (Sept. 15), Charlottesville (Sept. 22), Staunton (Sept. 29), Lynchburg (Oct. 13), Harrisonburg (Oct. 20) and Danville (October 27).
Walks are held in communities nationwide and new this year is the ability to sign up online as a “Virtual Walker. You can use the tools to fundraise knowing that you will not be able to take part in a Walk.
“This is a great option for family members who live in other parts of the country to join your team and fundraise, said Mary Pat Hanson, Walk Director.
