LISA MARTIN HONORED FOR
OUTREACH EFFORTS
At its annual Christmas celebration in Blacksburg, the Office of Outreach and International Affairs honored faculty and staff who had made significant contributions to the mission of outreach at Virginia Tech during 2011. Honorees are nominated by their peers and chosen by a committee.
Lisa Martin was selected for the “Bull’s Eye Award, which honors an employee who combines learning, discovery and engagement in a program or project that targets a community need. Lisa was nominated by Homestead director Julie Walters-Steele for successful programming in general, and the development of the College for Older Adults in particular. The program targeted an underserved community in the area, and continues to grow each session.
The programming at the Reynolds Homestead serves Patrick, Henry and surrounding counties.
