2011 Miss and Mister Crooked Road Pageant-Rocky Mount

Announcement! 2011 Miss and Mister Crooked Road Benefit Pageant of Franklin County, VA. Date: October 15, 2011. Rocky Mount, VA

2011 Miss and Mister Crooked Road Of Franklin County Benefit Pageant Where: Rocky Mount, VA-American Legion Building (Senior Citizen) (American Leigon Building or what some people call the Senior Citizen building on Tanyard Rd.) When: OCTOBER 15, 2011 Contact: msigmonrm@hotmail.com Time: Registration for Baby Miss and Mister, Wee Miss and Mister, Little Miss and Mister, Tiny Miss and Mister, Young Miss and Mister, Preteen Miss, and Miss Teen will begin at 11:00 AM. Pageant will be 12:00 - 3:00 PM with crowning immediately following. Registration for Young Adult Miss, Adult Miss, Mature Miss, and Senoir Miss will begin at 5:00 PM. Pageant will begin at 6:00 PM (time may change depending on entries.) There will be a $10.00 admission fee at the door. Advanced tickets will be available at J&J Fashions and Retail Merchants. One adult per contestant allowed in free of charge. Only one adult allowed in dressing room with contestants. Age Divisions Young Adult 20-35 years Adult Miss 36-50 years Mature Miss 51-64 years Senior Miss 65 years and older Each age division is limited to the first 20 contestants. Send in Application fee as early as possible to hold your spot as some age divisions fill up quickly. The deadline for applications is October 10, 2011. Awards:  Each age winner will receive a Trophy, Crown, and Sash.  Peoples Choice will receive a Crown, Sash and a special gift.  First and Second runner-ups in each division will receive a trophy.  Costume winner in each division will receive a trophy.  Photogenic winner in each division will receive a medallion.  Gown and Casual wear winner in each division will receive a certificate. Mandatory’s: Casual Wear Competition - All contestants will model a casual wear outfit that is appropriate for an evening out. Casual wear is not a vogue or glitzy outfit and no interview suits. This will be modeled prior to the gown competition. Contestants will be judged on beauty, appearance, poise, grace, and personality. No props please. Gown Competition - Young, Adult, Mature and Senior contestants will model formal gowns or a formal age appropriate outfit. Nothing too revealing. Judging based on Beauty (Facial Beauty, Features, Makeup, Hair), Smile (Projection and Naturalness), Modeling ( Poise, Carriage, Posture, Grace), and Overall Appearance (Neatness, Appropriate Attire, Shoes, Overall Fit/Length). Optional’s: Photogenic Competition - Contestants may submit one or up to three photos of themselves at the pageant on October 15, 2011. DO NOT MAIL PHOTOS. The photos may be in color or black and white and should be no larger than 8x10. Headshots are preferred. Results from this competition will not figure into the overall scoring of the pageant. The photo should reflect the contestant’s photogenic potential. Photo’s can be made by contestant’s choice of photographer and will be returned at the end of the pageant. Winner in each division. Western Competition - Contestants may wear any type of western outfit as long as it is not too revealing. Freestyle modeling is allowed, upbeat music will be provided or you can bring your own marked and ready to play CD. Winner in each division. People’s Choice - Contestants will collect good luck wishes from friends and family for $1.00 each and make a box decorated anyway you like. Remember to tell everyone that all proceeds go to Franklin County Retail Merchants Association, Helping Hands and a local food bank. You can decorate you box with any theme and include a photo of yourself and your name. Boxes will be for the day of the pageant and returned after the pageant. The contestant who collects the most good luck wishes as turned in on the day of the pageant will be named the Senior Ambassador. This person will serve as the Grand Marshall of the 2011 Christmas Parade. You may collect wishes up until the day of the pageant as well as at the pageant. We have chosen not to do any high point winners so please vote for your favorite because they will be honored with serving as Grand Marshall of the 2011 Christmas Parade with the Young Ambassador. A special directors gift will be giving and displayed the day of the pageant. We ask that all winners remain after the pageant for pictures. ***ALL NATURAL PAGEANT*** Please note…. No Pro-Am modeling routines, no fake hair, hair pieces, fake teeth, flippers and prefer no high glitz gowns and dresses. Score sheets will NOT be given out at the pageant. If you wish to receive your scores please bring a self addressed 9x11 brown envelope with $2 in postage and scores will be mailed out to you after the pageant.
