Carmen Puckett Seeks Position of Treasurer of Patrick County

Carmen Puckett is seeking the position of Patrick County Treasurer in the upcoming November 8th election. Carmen owns and manages Appalachian Title Company.
One of the responsibilities of the Treasurer is to keep an accurate accounting of the county tax revenues. Carmen is a graduate of Patrick Henry Community College, with an Associate’s Degree in Business Management, minor in Accounting and certificate in Bookkeeping. Carmen has also owned and managed Appalachian Title Company, Inc., for eight years, handling all of the financial responsibilities.
A large part of the day to day responsibilities of the Treasurer’s Office is to keep track of real estate transfers so that tax tickets are sent to the current owners. Carmen has over 16 years of experience working in all aspects of real estate, which involves being able to interpret deeds, wills and court orders with respect to the transfer of property.
Carmen feels that the County Treasurer’s office should have an open door policy regarding ideas and suggestions from our citizens. She feels that she can offer new and fresh ideas to the office.
With years of experience in accounting, real estate, business management and serving the citizens of Patrick County, Carmen feels that she would be a great candidate for Treasurer.
Carmen lives in Stuart with her husband, Leon Puckett. They have six children and nine grandchildren, all of Patrick County.
