Crooked Road Musicians Peform at Star Theatre-Stuart

A traveling troup of musicians and singers, representing the Crooked Road Music Trail, performed at the Historic Star Theatre in Stuart, VA on Sunday, May 15, 2011.
Music stars included Linda Lay, Sammy Shelor, Eddie Bond, Kirk Sutphin, Loey Abarta, Leigh Beamer, Dale Jett, Mick Maloney, Cheick Hamala Diabate, Burl Rhea and Molly Slemp.
Joe Wilson, Author of the Crooked Road book was the emcee.
Music included old time, bluegrass, African, Irish and much more. It was a great performance in an excellent setting. The title of the program was, "Roots of American Music, How Hillbillies Helped Invent it."
The Road Show was based on the Permanent Exhibit, Roots of American Music, which is opening May 28, 2011, at the Blue Ridge Music Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Mile Post 213, near Galax, VA.
