The Dan River Tourism Group has been meeting monthly on the 2nd Annual Ararat Heritage and Music Jamboree. It will be held on 21 May 2011. Experience the genuine down home southern hospitality just minutes from Mount Airy NC and the Blue Ridge Parkway. It kicks off with a PARADE 10:00 a m with floats, horses, farm equipment, antique cars, fire and rescue trucks, etc. starting at the Ararat Ruritan Building 4711 Ararat Highway, Ararat, VA and ending at Dan River Park.
MUSIC: bluegrass, country, old time, rock and gospel. Dancing is permitted. Food of all kinds, crafts, games, and drawings for gifts between music bands. Come on out, stay all day, bring your lawn chairs, FIRE WORKS AT THE END OF DAY!!!
ALL VETERANS GROUPS ARE INVITED TO MARCH IN PARADE, THIS ARMED FORCES DAY!!!
Dan River Park will also be open Sunday 22 May from 1:00 to 6:00 an afternoon of food, fun and music.
