Danny Foley, Sr. is running for a seat on the Patrick County Board of Supervisors again. He previously served on the Board 2004-2007.

Danny Foley, Sr. is running for a seat on the Patrick County Board of Supervisors again. He previously served on the Board 2004-2007. Danny is age 54. He and his wife Kathy, make their home on Pleasant View Drive, Patrick Springs, VA in the Mayo River District. He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Patrick County Taxpayer Watchdog organization and was one of the founders. He is the manager of Foley Used Cars and previously served on the West Piedmont Planning Board and the Social Services Board.
His approach is to reduce spending and look for a way to cut County taxes.
Concerning Tourism spending, he would like to have the County work with the local Patrick County Chamber of Commerce and funnel money through that organization which has a long term reputation of promoting Tourism. This approach would eliminate the necessity of the Tourism Advisory Committee.
He feels that we need to look at some different approaches to Economic Development, such as the “Regional Approach� followed by Roanoke, which would result in working with neighboring counties to bring jobs to the area.
Concerning the Mayo River Trail project, he wants the project stopped after the 1st Phase is complete and then offer the project to the Town of Stuart for them to develop it further.
Danny is proud of the fact he made the initial contact with Global Results inviting the company to bring call center jobs to this area. He says he does a lot of reading and research on many of the key issues facing Patrick County.
