Community-Wide Litter Cleanup- Spring Campaign
Patrick County, VA – Date: April 4, 2011
Key Points of Litter Clean Up:
 Be responsible for your own trash. Put trash in the proper place.
 Think about what you are doing. Let’s keep our County beautiful.
 Take pride in your surroundings. Keep the area where you live and work clean.
 Recycle whenever possible. There are agencies out there that can help you.
 Encourage others. Try to involve your own family, your church, your own business, and your civic clubs.
 Take initiative. Don’t wait for someone else to do it. Don’t wait for someone to remind you. This is a self-directed effort.
 Start now to clean up the environment. We want our neighborhood to look good for our visitors so they will come back this summer.
Who can help you?
Town of Stuart and the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce will have orange garbage bags available. Individuals, churches and civic clubs can pick them up at the Town office on 100 Patrick Avenue, Stuart. Chamber office is at 20475 Jeb Stuart Highway, Stuart. Mobile Recycle Bins – Take newspapers, magazines, plastic bottles, and aluminum/tin cans. Located at Rotary Field Monday-Friday. At our elementary schools on weekends.
County Transfer Station– Take your trash, old car batteries, appliances, newspapers, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, etc. Telephone: 276-694-6749
Jamie’s Recycling – Take your aluminum pop cans, scrap metals, junk cars, car batteries and old appliances. Telephone: 276-694-5692
