Press Release- Photo Contest of Farmers Market
The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) is hosting a photo contest to showcase the 2010 Virginia farmers' market season. Submit your favorite digital photograph taken at a Virginia farmers' market between July 8, 2010 and August 18, 2010. The winners will receive a Virginia Grown/Virginia's Finest prize package worth $100 each. VDACS must receive the photo no later than Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Judges will make their selection by Friday, August 27, 2010. No purchase necessary. Winners will be selected for the following age categories; children up to age 12, youth ages 13-20, adults ages 21 and up and a special prize will be awarded to the Virginia farmers' market with the most entries. For complete rules, submission form and to submit your entry visit VDACS website at http://www.vdacs.virginia.gov/vagrown/index.shtml. The Stuart Farmers Market is open on Fridays 8am to 12pm. Any vendor is welcome to set up during those hours as well as any other time in the parking lot. The Stuart Farmers Market is a contestant for “America’s Favorite Farmers Market�.
