Friday we are hosting Dr. Gene Deisinger, Director of Threat Management at Virginia Tech, for his workshop “Assessing and Managing Threatening Behaviors: An Integrated Community Approach.� Gene will talk about the different forms of community and workplace threats—opportunistic criminals, frustrated customers, terrorists, political protestors, dismissed employees, angry spouses. Learn how to assess and manage threatening behavior before it escalates. The workshop is June 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and the cost is $65, which includes lunch, snacks and all workshop materials.
Who Should Attend: Law Enforcement Officers, School Safety Personnel, School Officials, Emergency Services Personnel, County and Civic Leaders, Environmental, Safety and Health Personnel, Members of Church Boards--anyone with a special interest in maintaining a safe community. Attendees will receive a certifiÂcate of participation with the number of contact hours recorded.
