Meet and Greet-Welcoming Dr. Charlotte Evans-Mt. Valley Hospice

Dr. Evans has been a volunteer Associate Medical Director with MVHPC since 1998. "I'm very excited about transitioning into this new role", said Dr. Evans. “I know with absolute certainty that this is what I was called to do. I look forward to being able to focus my talents and energy full time on the hospice program." In her new role, Dr. Evans will oversee for the medical services provided to patients in a variety of settings, including patients residing at home, in a skilled nursing facility, hospital, rest home, or other residence. She will also work with the hospice interdisciplinary teams to ensure that patients are receiving the best possible end of life care. In addition, Dr. Evans will be actively involved with home and facility physician visits, providing with requested, consultation on effective pain and symptom management. She will also assist Dr. Glenn Golaszewski, Director of Medical Services, with physician services at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. "We are thrilled to have Dr. Evans as part of our team,� said, Denise Watson, Executive Director of MVHPC. "It means a lot to have someone with her experience and compassion helping to direct patient care. She also understands what Mountain Valley Hospice brings to our community." A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Evans graduated from the University Of South Carolina School Of Medicine in 1985. She completed her internship and residency at North Carolina Baptist Hospital/Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem in 1988. Dr. Evans is board certified in Family Medicine, as well as in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties. She lives with husband Larry Klett in Yadkin County. A reception is being held in her honor on June 29, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mountain Valley Hospice office in Mt. Airy, 401 Technology Drive, Suite 200. The public is invited to attend.
