PCMA introduces Southern Depot
PCMA – June 26th, 2010– Stuart, VA
Take a break from the heat, sit back, relax, and listen to old time bluegrass music at the Patrick County Music Association (PCMA) monthly Jamboree is featuring Southern Depot. Doors open at 3:30 PM, and the fun beings at 4:00 PM at the Stuart Rotary Field in Stuart, Virginia on June 26th. Admission is free and food will be available.
Southern Depot is an easy listening bluegrass band. Roger Handy, lead singer is an original member of “Lost & Found� and is a well established singer in the bluegrass community. Roger is accompanied by Billy Weaver on the Banjo, Harold East playing the dobro and vocals, and Charlie Robertson with the bass and vocals. Billy, one of the original members of “The New Grass Express� won the Galax Fiddlers convention in the late 80s. He is also the author of several original song played by the band. Harold is known as one of the greats at dobro, playing for over 30 years. He is also one of the original members of the band “Kentucky". From the original band, “Wildfire�, Charlie joins in with his technique on the bass and as the author of the bands original tracks.
Also included in June's Jamboree are Herbert, Tina, and Catherine Conner, Highway 61, Stoney Ridge, Narrow Road, and Chords of Faith. Doors will open at 3:30 PM and the music begins at 4:00 PM.
