A one car accident occured about 7am this morning on Route 8 South of Stuart, VA. One person was killed. As reported by WHEO 1270 radio on the morning news

Melissa Collins Lawson, 39, of Stuart, was killed, according to WHEO radio show host, Richard Rogers. Trooper Barry Pack is investigating the accident. Several rescue squads from Patrick County responded to this accident. It happened near Black Jack Road on 3168 Salem Highway, Rt. 8 South of Stuart. Condolences to the family of Ms. Lawson from the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce.
