Step, Inc Holds Their Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening

Step, Inc. held it's ribbon cutting and grand opening on June 1, 2010, in Stuart, VA for their new facilities. On hand to speak were Congressmen Rick Boucher (9th District) and Tom Perriello (5th District)
On hand for the event were Del. Ward Armstrong, Sen. Roscoe Reynolds, Jay Scudder, Patrick County Administrator, Mayor Jim McHone of Stuart, Stuart Town Manager, Terry Tilley, Tom Bishop, Executive Director Patrick County Chamber, Roger Hayden, Supervisor Dan River District, Crystal Harris of Smith River District, Rob Shorter, President of STEP Board of Directors, Anne Herring, Area Director, USDA, Jon Morris, Executive Director, Step, Inc.
Step means , Support To Eliminate Poverty. Step offers 22 different programs.
The office facility is 7200 sq. feet
Step received $1.3 million from Rural Development Agancy. Part is that was a Federal Grant of $50,000 and $1.2 million in the form of a low-interest federal loan.
