Stuart, CSA, this Thursday evening, May 13, starting at 5:30pm The location is Laurel Hill, which is on the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places. A great weather day! Weather.com predicts some clouds and a warm day. So, come all members to a beautiful spot in your county. Laurel has many things you can learn about and experience with one of the most beautiful sites in Patrick County. Here are some of the things you will find: Visitor Center, with pictures, books and gifts items for sale. A display of artifacts from the archaeological digs. JEB Stuart Pavilion with story boards of JEB’s war time exploits as described by noted author Robert Trout. Included is the “Lee Tree� and memorial bricks Trails – with directional signage Grave of William Lechter, great grand father of JEB. Oldest grave in Patrick County (dating to 1780) Stuart family cemetery Many historical markers telling the Stuart family story. Slave cemetery and Overlook (view of Ararat river bottom) We will have drawings for those in attendance. Some special gift items will be given away!
