COUNTY WIDE LITTER PICK-UP CAMPAIGN UNDERWAY Community Wide Litter Pick-Up in Patrick County underway now through May 31. This is in conjunction with the statewide Stewardship Virginia campaign with projects that enhance and conserve Virginia's natural and cultural resources. Everyone join in and volunteer to help. Self Directed clean up along our road sides. Be safe! The Patrick County Chamber of Commerce, working with local businesses, civic clubs, churches, individuals and other organizations has launched a Community-Wide Litter Pick-Up for Patrick County, starting on April 1-May31, 2010. The idea is to collect litter surrounding your business, church, organization and home or other designated locations. We encourage you to help clean up the neighborhood, recognizing the Spring and Summer are when we have a large number of visitors in our County to participate in many activities. This is intended to be a self directed effort to truly MAKE A DIFFERENCE in the appearance of our community and encourage visitors to come back. Each person that participates will receive a certificate signed by the Governor of Virginia. Please contact the Chamber, if your organization is participating in the litter pick-up campaign. Each participant will receive a certificate signed by the Governor. Orange trash bags will be picked up by VDOT or you may take them to the Patrick County Transfer Station. For orange trash bags and orange vests, contact the Town of Stuart, 694-3811, Patrick County Chamber of Commerce 694-6012 and the Patrick Soil and Water Conservation District office 694-3121.
