Families Enjoy the Snow of Jan. 29-2010

February 2, 2010
The snow of January 2010, producing about 8 inches, was very enjoyable for families who were at home on Saturday and Sunday of this weekend.

It was a time to families to gather at home, spend time together, shoveling snow, riding their sleds, and making snowmen. Here is one such family near Dry Pond, 9 miles from Stuart, VA. This family experienced, neighbors volunteering to snow plow the driveway. People riding 4-wheel drive vehichles on snow covered trails. We found it very handy to drive a 4-wheel drive Ford truck, getting around on snow covered country roads. Also, it was a time for neighbors to drop in for a friendly visit over a cup of hot tea or coffee. It was a great time for grandma to make hot pototo soup and corn bread. The kids and grandkids gathered at home for games, TV and simple fellowship. Churches were closed and families gathered together and taught Sunday School to the kids at home. Photo by Tom Bishop
