A partnership between the Town of Stuart and Patrick County is being considered in the developoment and maintenance of the Mayo River Trail. A recent meeting was conducted on Jan. 20

The 3-Mayo River Trail will follow the old rail line of the Dick and Willie Railroad (Danville and Western) company. The cost of the project is $1,054,450. Patrick County has been awarded a total of $234000 from the federal Transportation Enhancement Program, administered by the Virginia Department Transportation (VDOT).
