Thursday-Friday-Saturday-Sunday-Monday- Dec. 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 2009 there will be many special events taking place in Patrick County, VA and the surrounding area celebrating the Christmas holiday.
Here is a list of major events and celebrations:
1. Dec. 1-15, Reynolds Homestead Christmas Tours- 10am-4pm, at Critz. Decorated for a Victorian Christmas. Admission required. Call ahead to schedule a tour. 694-7181
2. Dec. 5-14, Open House at Chateau Morrisette winery. 12 noon-4pm. Decorated for Christmas. Wine tours. Snacks and drinks available
3. Dec. 7-17 – Tours available at Mountain Rose Inn. Reservation required.
4. Dec. 10- (Thursday) Music Jam-State Line Grocery-Route 8 South, Stuart, starts at 7pm. Bluegrass and mountain music.
5. Dec. 10 – Thursday) A Christmas Carol-Reynolds Homestead-Critz, 7pm. Tickets $8, Richmond Theatre IV
6. Dec. 11 – (Friday) Willis Gap Jamboree-Hollow Road, Ararat. 7pm. Free. Concessions available. Bluegrass, Old Time, Country and Gospel music.
7. Dec. 11 – Music night at Spencer-Penn Center. Music by Herbert, Tina, and Catherine Conner, Jason Harris and Friends and Ten Brooks. 6:30pm Admission $3.
8. Dec. 12– Annual Christmas Parade-Main Street, Stuart, starts at 2pm. Many floats, fire trucks, Santa, ATV’s and much more...
9. Dec. 12 – Hospice Christmas Home Tour- Patrick County. Admission required. 694-4416. 12noon-5pm
10. Dec. 12 – Moravian Christmas Love Feast at Meadows of Dan Baptist Church, 6:45pm
11. Dec. 12 – Nativity Scene at New Beginnings Baptist Church, Patrick Springs, 3pm. Music by Joyful Noise. Free stew.
12. Dec. 12-13 (Saturday and Sunday) Live Nativity Scene-Peters Creek Baptist, 6pm & 7:30pm, Rt. South, VA/NC line.
13. Dec. 12 – Variety Dance-American Legion-7:30pm, Music by Strictly Country.
14. Dec. 12 – Womanless Beauty Pageant, at the High School, 6pm. Admission $3. Fund raising for the Baseball Team.
15. Dec. 12-13, Christmas Play, “Meet At The Manger�, Star Theatre, 7:30pm Saturday, and 2:00pm Sunday. Admission Free.
16. Dec. 13 – (Sunday) Christopher’s Pizza Music Jam-Meadows of Dan, Jeb Stuart Highway, Rt. 58, 1pm
17. Dec. 14 –(Monday) Blue Ridge Nursing Center has Live Nativity Scene. 6:30pm-8:30pm. Stuart. Drive by. Big Greenhouse will be open.
