A Christmas Tree lighting will take place Saturday, Nov. 28 at 5:30pm on Business Highway Route 58 in the business district of Meadows of Dan, VA. Public Invited!
Meadows of Dan Community Association Sponsors Community Christmas Tree
Through the sponsorship of the Meadows of Dan Community Association, a Community Christmas tree will be lit in the business community on Highway 58 in Meadows of Dan. A tree lighting ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 5:30 PM. Music and Christmas carols, hot apple cider, hot chocolate and ginger cookies will add to the festivities.
"We hope to make this an annual event," said Dreama Stimely, Chair of the Meadows of Dan Community Association and owner of Meadows Mercantile. "The Association is always looking for ways to unite the community and add to the appeal of Meadows of Dan as a destination for tourists and our residents and we're excited by this new undertaking. We're hoping that lighting the Christmas tree and providing music and treats will attract our neighbors throughout Patrick County and perhaps even a special visitor from far away. So kids had better watch out!"
The Meadows of Dan Community Association has a membership made up of business and civic leaders in the community. The Association sponsors the Meadows of Dan Folk Fair each year in August as part of the Virginia State Peach Festival.
