Beautification Project At Patrick County Courthouse

The Master Gardeners of Patrick County are working on the yard surrounding the Patrick County Courthouse today, Friday, Nov. 20, 2009 to spruce up the looks.
The Master Gardeners are conducting a Courthouse Beautification project by removing old shrubs and putting in new shrubs and plants for less than $1000.
Members of the Board of Supervisors agreed to donate $600 to the project with the remainder being paid for by the County. This was approved by a 4-1 vote (Nov. 16) with Dr. Lock Boyce voting no. Dr. Boyce was proposing this be funded 100% by community donations. Dr. Boyce agreed to donate $200 himself.

Removal of the Boxwoods on either side of the Court House steps.
Planting Nellie Stevens Holly, with pansies and spring bulbs
Other flowers wil include Varigated Lirope and ornamental cabbage
Paint planter boxes on the steps and plant dwarf Alberta Spruce for the Holiday season
