JUMP START THE HOLIDAYS WITH A GINGERBREAD HOUSE WORKSHOP
CRITZ, VA (October 22, 2009)—The Reynolds Homestead will host Food Network champion and award winning baker Lora Mahaffey and her “Play with Your Food: Fantastic Gingerbread Houses class on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Start the holiday season off right by creating a unique gingerbread house. The houses are already built, so students get to do the fun part—decorate! Everything participants need to make a wonderful and edible Christmas centerpiece is supplied. Basic decorating skills will be taught and all you need to bring to the workshop is an apron, a bag lunch, and your imagination.
“I really encourage children and parents to take the class together, says Mahaffey. “It’s a fun way to learn together and enjoy getting in the mood for the holidays. Plus, you get to take home a fantastic Christmas decoration.
Advanced registration is required. The class is open to anyone ages 8 and up, though children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The cost of the workshop is $40 with a $20 deposit required to hold a space. Class size is limited, so register early by calling the Homestead at (276) 694-7181 or reply to this e-mail.
