On Saturday-Sunday, October 17-18, 2009 there will be many fall celebrations taking place in Patrick County, VA.
Here is a list of major events and celebrations:
1. Oct. 17-Apple Dumpling Festival-Downtown Stuart-10:00am-4:00pm-Music, Crafts and other vendors. Music by: 1st Christian Church Choir, Downtown Boys, Moulded Soul, Over The Hill Gang, and Less More & Friends.
2. Oct. 17. Benefit Ride For Kids-10:30am-Starts at Pilot Mt., NC and travels to Claudville, VA. Chicken stew provided for all bike riders. Door prizes.
3. Oct. 17 – Celebration of Pride band competition at Patrick County High School. 4:00p. m. at Patrick County High in Stuart.
4. Oct. 17 – Rye Cove Homecoming-Stuart. Music by Michael Ray Fain and the Rye Cove Band and Jason Harris. Starts at 3:00pm. Pinto beans, veggies, soup and desserts. Amy’s Angels Cooking For A Cure-Cancer benefit. In Dobyns Community.
5. Oct. 17-18 Indian Summer Days Festival-Meadows of Dan at Mountain Meadows Farm and Craft Market. 10:00am-5:00pm Corn Maze, Hay Maze, Old time music, Crafts, local produce. Pick your pumpkin.
6. Oct. 17. Annual Fall Gathering at Mabry Mill, MP 176 on Blue Ridge Parkway. Apple butter making, heritage educational programs. 10:00am-4:00pm
7. Oct. 17-18 Corn Maze Days at Doe Run Farm in Ararat, VA. Saturday 10:00am-9:00pm, Sunday 1:00pm-7:00pm. Hay rides. Pumpkins. Apple pies. Snacks and drinks.
8. Oct. 18 –Mabry Mill: Music by Giles Mountain String Band, 2:00pm-5:00pm
9. Oct. 18- Pancake Days-Meadows of Dan Community Building. 7am-7pm. All you can eat. Buckwheat cakes, buttermilk pancakes, country sausage and sausage gravy.
Another great weekend in Patrick County, VA, with much fall entertainment and music planned. And as always good food!
