Here is a greeting from the R. J. Reynolds Homestead, published on Oct. 6, 2009 by Lisa Martin, Senior Program Manager.
Greetings from the Reynolds Homestead!
We are enjoying this wonderful early fall weather and things are getting quite beautiful out here in Critz. Just the scenery is enough reason to come and visit, but we also have lots of great activities going on this month, too.
The Frontier Culture Museum will be here tomorrow at noon for our “History Around Us Program, and I’m extremely excited about Walter Rugaber’s discussion on the future of news and news media on Sunday, October 11 at 3:00 p.m. Jim McIntosh is back for his terrific watercolor class, and we have two great photography classes lined up as well.
Dinner and a Movie night is filling up fast, and Ben’s food is not to be missed, so get your reservations in early. For those with teens in the family, please direct them to our Teen Night Halloween Party on the 29th, featuring the VT-UNC game on the 8’ screen in the main hall.
The J.E.B. Stuart Art show is one of the best yet, so be sure and check it out when you’re here.
Thanks to our new Assistant Program Coordinator Traci Petty for her first issue of the “Homestead Highlights Newsletter! We’re very happy to have her on board and look forward to great ideas coming up.
Happy Fall, Everyone!
