“Business After Hours� with the Patrick County Chamber is always very special when chamber members get together, network with each other, learn more about our beautiful community.
Tuesday, Oct. 13-Business After Hours, 5:30pm-7:00pm. The Hollow History Center, Doe Run Road, Ararat, VA. RSVP.
• The Hollow History Center includes the Riley Puckett Cabin, the Library Cabin, Log Tobacco Bar with a Farm Equipment Exhibit, the Covered Picnic Shelter. The Hollow History centers mission is to collect preserve and share the history of that section of Patrick County known as “The Hollow�. Next door is the Doe Run Farm and Corn Maze, which includes locally grown produce.
Thursday, Nov. 5–Business After Hours, 5:30pm-7:00pm. The Landmark Center, 227 Landmark Drive, Stuart, VA. RSVP.
• The Landmark Assisted Living Center and the Blue Ridge Nursing Center are on site. This facility includes the Landmark Artzy Shop and Gallery, which is included on the Patrick County Artisan Trail and is a member of Round The Mountain artisan organization. Also on site is the “Big Greenhouse�, operated by the residents of the assisted living facility.
Thursday, Dec. 3-Business After Hours, 5:30pm-7:00pm. The R. J. Reynolds Homestead Continuing Education Center , 463 Homestead Lane, Critz, VA. RSVP.
• Come see the Homestead in December when it is decorated for the Victorian Christmas. The Reynolds Homestead is the birthplace and boyhood home of Mr. Richard Joshua Reynolds, who started R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. The home was built in 1843. Another member of the Reynolds family, Richard S. Reynolds, Sr., nephew of R. J., founded the Reynolds Metals Company. The Reynolds Homestead is a Commonwealth Campus of Virginia Tech, a Continuing Education Center, and a Forest Resources Research Center.
