Rainbow of Blessing at Primland Grand Opening of The Lodge

August 29, 2009

On the evening of the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of The Lodge at Primland, a brief rain shower developed. Then a large rainbow filled the Eastern sky. I call this a "rainbow of blessing" from above.

It was an emotional and moving experience to be a part of the grand opening, then to experience the rain shower and rainbow from heaven. It was like God was putting his blessing upon this place and this special day. “Today’s the day where the dream has turned into reality, Didier Primat’s son, Harold Primat, said moments before he cut a ribbon to open the lodge. “We’re thinking strongly of him. What you see today is his vision. He was speaking of his father, Didier Primat, who had the vision for making this mountain top of Patrick County into a premier destination for tourists from all over the world. Didier Primat, owner and founder of the Primland Resort in Patrick County died in Geneva, Switzerland, on July 6, 2008. Many people worked hard to bring this new multimillion dollar facility in place on top of the mountain in Patrick County, VA. John S. Clark Construction company out of Mt. Airy, NC, was the general contractor. Vice President Steve Helms has "been at the helm" for a lot of years, leading the effort to take Primland to this special place in history. His team of employees, included Brooks Bradbury, General Manager are to be applauded. Many local Patrick County residents are a part of the Primland team of employees. We thank them for all their hard work. Article written by Tom Bishop, Executive Director, Patrick County Chamber of Commerce. Picture taken by Angela Helms.
