The Lodge At Primland Holds Grand Opening-Meadows of Dan, VA

The Lodge at Primland held a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting on Saturday evening, August 29, 2009. The opening included a champagne Reception and House Party with special music.

County Government officials, including Patrick County Board of Supervisors, Crystal Harris (Chairperson) and husband Mavin Harris, Ron Knight and Jonathan Large, L. Preston Bryant, Jr., VA Secretary of Natural Resources, Del. Ward Armstrong (Collinsville, VA) and Senator Roscoe Reynolds (Ridgeway, VA) Primat family members who led the opening ceremony included: Ms. Bérengère Primat-Serval, PRESIDENT OF PRIMWEST Mr. Harold Primat, PRESIDENT OF PRIMLAND. Ms. Martine Primat, wife of founder Didier Primat, was present with several children and grand children. Patrick County officials in attendance, included Jay Scudder, County Administrator and Tom Rose, Assistant County Administrator. Famous Patrick County banjo player, Sammy Shelor and his band performed. The opening included a multimillion dollar restuarant, lodge, observatory, health spa, and golf pro shop. The Lodge includes 26 luxuriously appointed suites with additional mountain cabins and Fairway Cottages. The Observatory, theater, great room and 2 story wine room are housed in The Lodge. Also included are conferencing facilities, full service golf pro shop, fitness center and indoor swimming pool. The Golf Course was designed by world-respected, Donald Steel, and is called the Highland Course. Available at this resort are top-quality hunting excursions and clay shooting. Further, horseback riding, ATV's, tennis, hiking, fishing and mountain biking are available. This is a 12,000 acre resort, seeking 5 diamond rating.
