The ‘Virginia is for Lovers’ slogan has been ‘nominated’ for one of ‘America’s Most Beloved’ slogans of all time, in a league with ‘It’s in the game’, ‘got milk?’ and ‘just do it’.
The ‘Virginia is for Lovers’ slogan has been ‘nominated’ for one of ‘America’s Most Beloved’ slogans of all time, in a league with ‘It’s in the game’, ‘got milk?’ and ‘just do it’. Should we win the designation, it should surely help VTC’s marketing efforts.
The Virginia Chamber of Commerce counts the Tourism Committee as one of its most active. Last year, the Chamber and it’s Tourism Committee was successful in helping to secure an increase of $2.5 Million in funding for VTC for FY 2010. According to independent research of 2007 data, each $1 that VTC spends on tourism marketing returns $2.12 to localities in the form of tax revenues. This doesn’t include other forms of economic impact such as jobs or travel-related expenditures.
