Rick Boucher Leads Ribbon Cutting for Computer Lab at Claudville, VA-
August 13, 2009
Congressman Rick Boucher was on hand along with Roger Heydon, Chairman of the Patrick County Broadband Committee to conduct ribbon cutting for the new Computer Lab at the Red Bank Ruritan Building in Claudville, VA on
August 13, 2009 with many Club members present.
This Computer Center will be available to the Claudville Community which is underserved with High Speed Internet Services. It can be very helpful for students, individuals and new businesses in the area.
The Center has been made possible by equipment donations by the TDF Foundation, Washington, DC. TDF is providing operating cost for 1 year, providing access fees, computer telecommunications equipment, telephone line and printer. Mr. Boucher paved the way for TDF Foundation's involvement with the project.
Patrick Henry Community College has provided computer desks. Patrick County Economic Development has provided swivel chairs and a $1000 grant. The summer youth workers were made available to clean and paint the facilities.
Jimmy Lankford did the electrical work as a donation.
The Red Bank Ruritan Club is the sponsor and host for the Center.
