On May 2, 2009, Tom Bishop, Executive Director, Patrick County Chamber of Commerce went to Richmond and visited the grave of Maj. Gen. J. E. B. Stuart, CSA.
Gen. Stuart, Born Feb. 6, 1833 in Ararat, VA, now known at Laurel Hill.
Died May 12, 1864 at the Civil War Battle of Yellow Tavern, north of Richmond, VA
He is buried here (Hollywood Cemetary) with his wife, Flora Cooke Stuart, born Jan. 3, 1836 and died, May 10, 1923
The epitaph says, "They so lived in this life that in the world to come they have life everlasting."
Also buried in this same cemetary are President John Tyler and President James Monroe.
