Dec. 2, 2008-Aerial Machine and Tool Corp. which was founded in 1926, recently started a new manufacturing operation in Ararat, VA, employing 55 new jobs.
Aerial Machine and Tool Corp. which was founded in 1926 recently started a manufacturing operation in Ararat, VA. This Ararat, VA facility is a satellite factory that is dedicated to making Fire Suppression Kits for military vehicles. The company produces a variety of kits for different vehicles which protect the fuel tanks from catching on fire in the event that the vehicles come under attack by small arms fire or IED’s. The kits are of proprietary design and are being fielded currently in IRAQ.
Aerial relocated to Vesta, VA in 1988 and they currently employee 261 employees. Due to the growth of the company it had to expand its operation both in Vesta and with the new facility in Ararat. The Fire Suppression project currently employs approximately 55 people and they expect to see that number possibly double within the next four months depending on contract awards.
Aerial specializes in precision and technical sewing products along with EDM and machining products that are used throughout the Military and Homeland Security agencies. Most of their products are associated with life support, search and rescue and parachute items
