Want to make a difference in your community? Want to make a difference in someone’s life? Become a Hospice Volunteer! Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care is seeking willing men and women to train as Hospice Volunteers.
Patient/Family Volunteers are the Heart of Hospice. They provide respite for the caregiver as well as emotional support for the patient and other family members.
Patient/Family Volunteers are asked to give about 2 hours a week or 3 hours every other week visiting with their assigned patient. The classroom training program is not hard and the life experience is invaluable. Call today for more info.
Hospice Patient/Family Volunteer Training will be held at our Galax Office. A continental breakfast will be provided as well as lunch. This training is FREE. The only requirement for participants is a valid driver’s license, an automobile, no criminal history and a willingness to serve in your community.
You will learn about the Hospice Philosophy, our Transitions program and the Woltz Hospice Home, as well as how to help and comfort a patient and their family as they go through their final journey together.
