Gourney Royal and his family made apple butter at the Annual Autumn Leave Festival in Mt. Airy, NC. This event has been a tradition with Mr. Royal and his family.

They are from Meadows of Dan, VA. Many of their October weekends are taken up with Apple Butter making at the Mayberry Country store just off the Blue Ridge Parkway.
