> This Plan Is Now In Motion! We have proven the demand and need, and
have obtained the full support of our County Supervisors. However, until
now we have had little to no luck in getting a company to supply the more
rural areas. We looked at all our options and decided to proceed with a
new approach to address the problem, which is Wireless Technology. This

providing Internet capability in more isolated rural areas.

> The Broad Band Task Force along with the Patrick County Board of
Supervisors, Economic Development, and County Administration have worked
in unison to get this project off the ground. A grant has recently been
secured from The Virginia Tobacco Commission to fund a study that would
outline a detailed plan in how to best provide Wireless Technology to
Patrick County. After reviewing several bids, Trificient of Mt Airy, NC
was chosen to provide the study.
> Thanks to the Patrick County Board of Supervisors, Economic Development
, County Administration, Congressman Rick Boucher and Chief of staff
Laura Lee For supporting this plan.
