Step, Inc. of Stuart, VA received a check on May 28, 2008 from the USDA for $1,108,000 for the new building on Route 8, South of Stuart

On hand for the check presentation was Fred W. Hutchins, Regional Representative for U. S. Senator Jim Webb Others on hand included: Sen. Roscoe Reynolds, Dr. Lee King, Step Board President, Ellen Davis, State Director, USDA Rural Development, Jon Morris, Executive Director of Step, and Art Powers of USDA Rural Development, and Anne E. E. Herring Area Director USDA. Ground breaking is planned for August, 2008 and Grand Opening is planned for Spring of 2009.
