Former Governor Mark Warner was a hit with local folks as he toured Stuart, VA, walking up and down Main Street on May 21, 2008.

Tom Bishop, Executive Director of the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce, accompanyied him as he visited Lemon's Jewelry, Honduras Coffee, Blue Ridge Propane, Wanda's Jewelry, and True Value Hardware. Sheriff Dan Smith gave an extensive tour of the County Jail. Susan Gasperini gave a tour of the Clerks Office and Record Center. Supt. Dr. Roger Morris discussed the local schools with him. He visited the Commonwealth Attorney's Office. He conducted a meeting with Chamber of Commerce members at the beautiful Historic Star Theatre in downtown Stuart and responded to questions from the audience.
