Patrick County Board of Supervisors voted to purchase land from EMI Imaging on Commerce Street for the new County Courthouse and Jail at their meeting on Feb. 25, 2008

This a 12 acre tract on Commerce Street in downtown Stuart, next door to EMI Imaging. It will be used for the new courthouse, jail, Sheriff office, County Clerk's office, Magistrate's office and Commonwealth Attorney's office. It is located on the Mayo River. Tobacco grant money is being sought to help with the purchase of the land. price of the land will be $30,000 per acre
