The 28th Annual Virginia State Peach Festival is this Friday, August 21.
The Patrick County Chamber of Commerce would like to invite
the public to the largest single day event in Patrick County as Walmart
presents the 2015 Virginia State Peach Festival, Friday August 21. Once again
this year our event will be held at the scenic Wayside Park, the gates will
open starting at 4:00 and the music will begin at 6:00.
For the 2015 edition of the Virginia State Peach Festival,
the Chamber of Commerce has joined with Walmart and other sponsors including,
River Community Bank, BB&T, Brian Jessup & Associates, Dan Smith for
Sheriff, Kim Adkins For Senate, Mountain Valley Hospice, Outdoor Entertainment,
Shaw, Stanburn Winery, Stephanie Vipperman, for Commonwealth Attorney, Stuart
Communications, SunTrust, Surrey Bank & Trust, B99.9, and The
Enterprise in order to once again make this event free to the public.
Festival goers will still enjoy everything they have come to
love about the Peach Festival including food, crafts, vendors and loads and
loads of homegrown peaches; with the addition of having the option to camp at
Wayside Park by calling (276) 692-4149.
Headlining this year’s festival will be The Darrell Harwood.
Known as a hard working common man and a natural born entertainer, Darrell
Harwood is on the brink of making it to the bigtime. His shows have electrified
audiences all over since he started performing. This year’s lineup also
features the talents of Regional and National favorite After Jack. After Jack
is a musical celebration of togetherness, recently named the 2014 Americana
Vocal Group of the Year by the Appalachian Cultural Music Association. Plus
Ruckkus A.M., a rocking powerhouse band from North Carolina that will
have you on your feet and banging your head. Music is sponsored by the Historic
Star Theatre.
In order to make this event even more family–friendly the
Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Pioneer Community Health to make our
popular Kid Zone rides free for the first time ever. Pioneer Community has
always put family first since 1960, the hospital was funded and built on the
simple concept of neighbors caring for neighbors – and that plan continues
today. The Kids Zone will feature an obstacle course, slide, and bouncer for
the young and young at heart to ride. So bring the family because there will be
something for everyone.
We hope everyone joins us for the biggest event of the
summer, as Walmart presents the 28th Annual Virginia State Peach
Festival, Friday August 21 from 4:00 until 10:00 pm at Wayside Park in Stuart.
