The Patrick County Chamber of Commerce would like to invite the public to celebrate warmer weather with the return of the Chamber Block Parties, on Friday, May 29 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Now in its third year, the Chamber’s highly successful Block Parties offer an admission-free, family-friendly atmosphere with something for everyone.
Once again this year the Chamber of Commerce has three big events planned, starting with the kick off May 29. For June, The Chamber joins the Mountains to Music events planned by the Crooked Road for a night of bluegrass music on June 18th. The series wraps up July 18th with the traditional Peach Festival Kickoff Party, in preparation for the Peach Festival in August.
Live music will have everyone tapping their toes as they mix and mingle with the community. May’s band Slick Jr and The Reactors will make their Block Party debut this year. Slick JR. & The Reactors has a long history of great music. Four of them are former members of the roots jam band Joe Washrag and have been playing together for 20 years. The members all bring different influences that come together to form an originality that shows in their songwriting and cover arrangements.
Plus Stanburn Winery will be on hand presenting a paid wine tasting. Sample some of Patrick County’s best wines while celebrating the return of warmer weather with the Chamber of Commerce.
