Covered Bridge Quilted Wall Hanging Workshop - Stuart, VA -- 10:00a-3:00p. Participants will create a quilted wall hanging featuring the covered bridge of Patrick County by using traditional quilting techniques. This is a 4 hour workshop held at Quilted Colors on Main Street, Stuart, VA and will include a 1 hour lunch break. Canoeing with Ghosts, Fairystone State Park Shelter #4 -- 7:30-9:30p. A guided canoe trip on the peaceful fairy stone lake. Hear stories of the old iron ore mining boomtown or Fayerdale, over which the lake now flows. The trip ends with a short hike to an old cemetery and ghostly tale. $5/person. Tin Pin Alley & Boondocks Grill, featuring Two Wheeled Tuesday and CC Coates Band - Stuart, VA -- 6:00p. Will be an outdoor event (in case of inclement weather we will be moved inside) featuring a local band - C.C. Coates Band. You can bring lawn chairs. Local wines and beer will be available for purchase. There will be designated bike parking area. Food and beverage specials provided by The Boondock Grill (no outside food of beverage please). Water Buffalo Farm Tour & Tasting - Stuart, VA -- 11:00a. Short tour of Mulberry Farms pasture to see water buffalo, Including interactions with come of the animals followed by a tasting event. Tasting event will feature samples of four types of sausages and patties can be tried. Please wear shoes or boots that may get muddy. Event will take place rain or shine. $10 admission. Spillway Paddle, Fairystone State Park Shelter #4 -- 1:00p-2:00p. A guided canoe/paddleboard trip down scenic fairy stone lake to the earthen dam and spillway. Imagine life in the 1930's as your guide talks about the young men of the Civilian Conservation Corps and how they built Fairy Stone Park. $5/person.
