Pout House Productions will present their initial concert production of The Mary Jo and Charlie Show

318 Patrick Avene  - Stuart  - 276-694-6700

Pout House Productions will present their initial concert production of The Mary Jo and Charlie Show featuring Ron and Tommy at The Historic Star Theatre in downtown Stuart, Virginia on Saturday February 7th at 6PM.
The Mary Jo and Charlie Show includes four life-long traditional musicians living here in the Stuart area in Virginia.
Mary Jo and Charlie Leet have been performing and recording in the acoustic music industry for well over twenty years, traveling throughout the United States. Playing acoustic guitar and bass, they spent over fifteen years as the “rhythm core” of the Dry Branch Fire Squad bluegrass band and recorded many projects on niche super-label, Rounder Records.
In Patrick County, Mary Jo and Charlie have banded up with super-musicians Ron Pendleton on mandolin and Tommy Morse on banjo to produce a program of highly-charged instrumentals as well as soul-stirring duets and trios that run the gamut from traditional bluegrass to gospel and old country hits.
This special production on February 7th includes several other musical groups that Mary Jo and Charlie have been performing with through the last ten years!
This concert will include The True Life Travelers. Linda Tatarian plays 5-string banjo and brings strong lead and harmony vocals to the mix as well as her engaging and entertaining style. Her husband, Chris Tatarian, supplies tasteful guitar, melodic harmonica and sings harmony to round out TLT’s powerful quartets.
Local music lovers will probably recognize The F.A.R.M. T.E.A.M. name. The F.A.R.M. T.E.A.M. is an acronym for the Free Alliance of Recalcitrant Musicians Totally Eclectic About Music. Team members all live in Patrick County, VA and include Mary Jo & Charlie Leet with Gayle & Rory McTighe. As a group, The F.A.R.M. T.E.A.M. uses Martin guitars, the dobro, mandolin and string bass to play Americana-type classic blues, bluegrass, old-time and singer-songwriter material…along with swing, campfire and kids songs that strike their fancy...that’s where the “eclectic” part comes in!
Les Moore will grace the program with a cameo performance. Les Moore plays a little jazz, soul, blues and country. Les Moore is one of the best vocalists you’ve ever heard! Les, a journeyman St. Louis blues player for over twenty years, relocated to Southwest Virginia, his original homeplace. Les Moore is the founder of The Rural Music Coalition and has brought musicians of all genre together in Patrick County.
Tickets are $10 at the door. The Historic Star Theatre in downtown Stuart, Virginia, 318 Patrick Avenue, Stuart, VA 24171. Call Charlie Leet for information, 276-694-6700 or geobuilt@earthlink.net
